The Claiborne Corridor Ambassadors hosted “Safe-Tea on the Lafitte Greenway” Friday (June 10) afternoon as part of their efforts to raise awareness in the community of people on bikes, on foot, and in cars at the Lafitte Greenway’s major crossings.

The event was held at the Broad Street Theatre near the Greenway’s crossing at North Broad Street, identified by the Ambassadors as a high-need area for education and awareness. Participants created and displayed their own safety signs to help raise awareness of the importance of this issue. New Orleans City Council member Susan Guidry voiced her support at the event.

This initiative was supported by Bike Easy and Friends of Lafitte Greenway. The Claiborne Corridor Ambassadors are a group of citizen advocates and leaders developed out of the Foundation for Louisiana’s TOGETHER Initiative in conjunction with Bike Easy.
