Foundation for Louisiana Activates Disaster Resilience Fund
Funding will support new and existing preparedness programs.
Baton Rouge, La. (September 4, 2012) – In the wake of Hurricane Isaac, Foundation for Louisiana has activated its Disaster Resilience Fund to support disaster preparedness activities and emergency relief throughout the state. Contributions to the fund will help to sustain and expand the success of preparedness and recovery programs the Foundation has provided statewide.
Though Isaac has caused considerable damage to the Gulf Coast, advocacy for federal, state and local funding of strengthened infrastructure, improved communications and emergency response, along with a notable improvement in disaster preparedness among individuals, neighborhoods, and small businesses have proven to be powerful forces in mitigating the impact of this most recent storm.
